Products

The product catalogue tells IncentIA which items earn cashback or points when they appear on a receipt or are scanned. It is not the rewards catalogue: that one is in Rewards catalogue. Menu: Catalogue › Product categories, Product types and Products.

Products, Product categories and Product types permissions · Edition: all (Free, Starter, Pro, Growth, Enterprise)

How the catalogue is used

  • Cashback with a receipt: when reading a receipt, IncentIA looks up each line in your products. First by exact Barcode; if that fails, by name (if the line name contains the product name, or vice versa). The lines that match are the ones that earn cashback. See Cashback.
  • Member quick scan: the member scans a code or types the product code and a quantity, and receives the product's Points per Unit (1 if you have not set any).

That is why the Name and Barcode should match what appears on receipts.

Product categories

In Product categories you organise the catalogue as a tree.

Name *Category name
DescriptionFree text
Parent CategoryParent category (a category cannot be its own parent)

Product types

In Product types you define a simple classification (for example, Food) with Name * and Description. You then choose it in Product Type.

Statuses and limits

  • The Product Type and Image labels on the product form appear in English.
  • Fixed cashback takes priority over the percentage: if you fill in both, the fixed amount is used.
